As a registered charity and non-profit organisation, we receive no government funding and all of our services are provided free of charge. We prioritize caring for animals instead of making profits.
Nonetheless, keeping our work going requires money and resources. Every month we have to pay for the staff who care for our animals, the food that feeds them and the medicines that treat them. We also have to maintain our facilities and buy fuel for our ambulance.
Costs are increasing for all of our supplies, while at the same time exchange rates are falling, damaging us further. Demand for our services is increasing and there are thousands of street animals that need care and support.

KAT US was established in August of 2020 to be a US-based supportive arm and subsidiary organization of Kathmandu Animal Treatment Center. (KAT-UK) We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and our Tax ID number is 85-2575516. We are a small but passionate group of volunteers working to support the work of KAT UK in bettering the lives and easing suffering of street animals in Nepal.
All donations received between May and October 2025 will be assigned to our veterinary hospital appeal, which is a major project to expand our work.
