You are helping to protect street dogs in Nepal

Thank you so much for joining our campaign to demand that the government of Nepal take immediate action to end acts of cruelty against street dogs.

By signing the petition, you’re applying the pressure that we need to bring about change. Around the world, governments and institutions have altered their policies because of campaigns like this one. We will achieve the same success if we continue pushing and sharing this message! Animals feel pain too and they deserve to live in a world where their feelings are respected. This is the goal of KAT Centre.

Learn more about our work

KAT Centre is a charity working to provide food, shelter and medical care to the street dogs of Nepal. We work with local staff to target support to the projects and causes that are most important. Everything that we do is supported by the donations of our friends and well wishers in the UK and around the world.

We have four main project areas:
1. Rescue and Treatment
2. Animal Birth Control
3. Rabies Prevention and Vaccination
4. Education and Awareness

We are also working hard to tackle an emerging issue, which is a type of cancer that is spreading between the street dogs of Nepal at epidemic levels. It is known as CTVT (Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumors) and it causes painful lumps which can ultimately be fatal. It is treated with a special type of chemotherapy, and as of February 2023, it is our goal to set up a dedicated centre to treat cases of this kind.

Our work began back in 2004 and since that time we’ve conducted close to 11,000 life-saving rescues of animals injured on the streets. We’re now registered in the UK, Germany and the USA, too, but we remain a grassroots charity with every penny raised spent directly in Nepal where it is needed the most.

If you would like to learn more about our work, why not check out some of our success stories or take a look at our Facebook page where we have posted thousands of photos of all of the dogs whose lives we’ve changed. You can also read about some of the dogs currently sheltered at KAT Centre here.
